SNK VS Capcom Chaos
(LAST UPDATE: 4/27/06)

Profile

General: Capcom and SNK's first ever cross-over encounter was Match of the Millenium, made by SNK... Then it was Capcom's turn, as they made Capcom VS SNK 1 and CVS2... And now in 2003, the ball is in SNK's court once more. SNK launched SVC: Chaos with a nice roster of characters, all backed with classic SNK gameplay based on the King of Fighters series, probably not the best option, but it does the job... includes personalized dialogue between all characters, which is something long time Capcom and SNK fans will appreciate greatly!
The graphics are definitely on the downside, as some of SNK's characters are just old rehashed sprites... And when I say old, I mean old, like King of Fighters 95-96 old. This flaw gives the game a somewhat dated look already. The backgrounds lack excitement and color, which isn't a big deal, but they're definitely not helpful to the "presentation" of the game. On the flip side, the Capcom characters look pretty cool in the SNK style and are well animated for the most part.
For those of you who enjoy the classic King of Fighters gameplay, you'll be glad to know that you'll easily be able to pull of a Shoryuken, or a Yoga Flame with ease. However, you Capcom veterans might have to get used to the gameplay mechanics, which are indeed quite "fast." Die-hard fighting gamers will have fun with this game, and I suppose that's whom it's intended for...

Comment: Although the game features a nice character roster, the overall presentation seems rushed... The character dialouge intermissions are done well, but the game needs a tune-up as far as graphics go. At it's core, it's an "average" fighting game... But I will say the art for the game is BADASS.
