General: Behold,
the ultimate cross-over fighting game, and one of my favorite fighting
games of all time, MvC2. Every Marvel character from every Capcom Fighting
game is selectable, as well as a few handfuls of old favorite Capcom characters
(as well as a few brand new ones), for a grand total of 56 characters in
all... The most ever in a single fighting game. The addition of 3-on-3
tag team gameplay, cool assists, super move cancels, and triple tag team
supers, make this game undeniably fun. Nuff said. Despite all the "cheap"
things skilled players can do, it's still fun...

Comment: I've
yet to be convinced that anything else is "The $hit," besides this game.
No doubt MVC2 was, and still is one of the most enjoyable 2D fighting games
for casual players and skilled players alike. For high level players, the
tournament scene is a little different, as "cheap" tactics are used to
easily dominate, and assists can be abused into "inescapable traps"...
But still, the fact that skilled players can do those sorts of things makes
the game impressive in it's own right. True, MVC2 is "un-balanced," meaning
some characters are clearly much "better" than others, but I think that's
what Capcom intended to do... and besides, that's what makes it so fun
right? MvC2 is a game that players will never forget, and some of us play
this religiously.
