Garou: Mark of the Wolves
(LAST UPDATE: 1/19/07)

Profile

General: Considered Fatal Fury 4, Garou is easlity one of SNK's best 2D fighting games to date. The gameplay in general is rock solid and the characters are incredibly well balanced, not to mention memorable and oozing with personality... What more could you ask for in a fighting game? Garou was clearly made to compete with Capcom's Street Fighter 3 series. Not only does Garou maintain the awesome fluid animation that could rival SF3 or AOF3, but it sports some highly addicting and strategic gameplay, in which "button-mashers" have absolutly no chance against seasoned vets.
Garou also has a similar "theme" to SF3... Characters like Marco Rodriguez, Dong Hwan, or Tizok, are actually the "new generation" of SNK fighters who take the place of, in this example, Ryo Sakazaki, Kim Kap Hwan, and Big Bear; former Fatal Fury characters practicing the same styles... The only returning character is Mr. Terry Bogard, SNK's original hero, and fighting game legend.
Garou also sports some amazing looking backgrounds (see below), superb music, and some excellent character designs and moves... Garou is simply an awesome and inspiring game. And if you haven't played it, you're missing out big time.

Comment: SNK answered Capcom's SF3 in a big way... which isn't an easy ordeal by any means. Garou is definitely one of my favorite games for obvious reasons! There's nothing much else to say besides... Ahhh you Okaaay??? BUSTAHHH WOLF!!!
