Characters
that look like each other...
*sigh*
Fighting game characters... It's getting harder and harder to tell them
apart.
Kazuya and Demitri

While at their debuts, these
characters didn't have much of a resemblance besides the pointy hair; later
on, Kazuya became more and more like a vampire, and started wearing snazzy
purple suits... that's when this resemblance became a reality. The only
difference between them these days, besides their fighting styles, is that
Demitri doesn't have eyebrows... But ironically enough, one of Kazuya's
customizations in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is the option to give him
the "no eyebrows" look. And if that's not enough, they can both turn into
alternate "demon" forms with wings... Most definitely separated at birth!
Haohmaru and Mitsurugi

The similarities are obvious...
Either way, they're both badass samurai, and two of my favorite characters
ever! ...And both based off of the famous Miyamoto Musashi.
Bahn and Jotaro

Many people might have
missed this one, but if you knew about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure before
you played Fighting Vipers, you'd realize Bahn's appearance was inspired
heavily by Jotaro Kujo.
Robert Garcia and Dan Hibiki

So, you saw this one coming
did you? Capcom obviously made Dan to mock SNK's Robert and the whole Kyokugen
style, used by also by Yuri
and
Ryo Sakazaki... Which
was pretty much payback for SNK's rip-offs of Capcom's Characters, some
of which you'll find below.
Guile and John Crawley

One of the first immediately
noticeable rip-offs ever... SNK put the "blond-haired army-guy," with a
similar background to boot, in Art of Fighting
just 1 year after Street Fighter 2 was
released... Shameful. They should have just gone ahead and given him American
flag tattoos as well.
Ken and Ryo

You can't tell them apart
if you're not a fighting game connoisseur... But yeah, two different characters
here... Two different companies.
K and Setsuna

Lets do the math... Silver
hair... Tan skin... Cold attitude... Snazzy suit... They must be related
somewhere on the SNK family tree.
Tiger Jackson, Mr. Jones, and Tony Umeda

If I see this design in one
more fighting game, I think I'll go mad... Not only the fro, and the bright
colored clothing, but they're all wearing sunglasses dammit! Disco is dead...
but these guys don't seem to think so.
Mai and Maki

This one may not have been
on purpose... Mai was simply a "female Guy"
from Final Fight 2... There are some subtle differences here or there,
but you can definitely see a resemblance... Just a coincidence overall
I think... But if Maki had brown hair, I think it would be a different
story.
Maxi, Vulcano Rosso,
and Amano Hyo

Check out the young elvis
hairstyle... Slicked back hair, sideburns, and that long piece hanging
down in front... Nothing much more to say here... Looks like the three
big character design companies (being Namco, Capcom, and SNK) crossed paths
yet again.
Hayato and Sol Badguy

They've both got spiky brown
hair, a futuristic weapon, a futuristic outfit, a metal headband, and black
gloves... Coincidence? Who knows... However, both of these designs are
pretty cool.
Feng Wei, Gato, and Lee Shuwen

No... It's not the same person...
Three different characters... Three different games...
E. Honda, Ganryu, and
Taka-Arashi

Sumos do look alike in many
instances, so this one's not all that surprising.
Dee Jay, Bob Wilson,
and Eddy Gordo

These guys all share the same "islander" theme and even
personality traits... Just look at Dee Jay's thumbs-up and Bob's thumbs-up...
Not to mention the smile... Eddy, on the other hand, has a bit of a cooler,
laid-back personality... But his outfit is nearly a replica of Bob's.
Adon, Joe, Shura, and
Bruce

Yeah... Don't need to say
much here... Just to set the record straight, Adon came first... Gotta
give him the credit... But damn, I bet you can't even tell them apart if
you look quickly... You're looking at characters from 4 different games
here...
Hokuto and Kasumi
.

Simply obvious... I don't
even have to say anything...
Roy Bromwell and Terry
Bogard

Capcom is at it again... Roy
is just a rip-off of Terry Bogard... Unbelievable... And even look at the
similarities of the name... First name ends in "Y" Last name begins with
"B"...
Cham Cham and Felicia

This one has always been a
mystery... Who came first? Samurai Shodown 2 introduced Cham Cham in 1994...
And Darkstalkers introduced Felicia the same year... Coincidence? It has
to be... But the similarities will always remain... Skimpy, fuzzy cloths
*ehem* fur, wild hair, and long ears... And also note that Cham Cham's
second player outfit, in SS2, is BLUE AND WHITE!!! INSANITY!!!
Kyosuke Kagami and Iori
Yagami

You might not see it right
away... But they both have a long sleeve jacket, with gold buttons. Kyosuke
has a black shirt underneath, Iori has a white shirt underneath. They both
have their hair combed forward... And last, their fighting stances are
similar... Not to mention their last names have the same ring "Kagami /
Yagami." They're both unique designs in their own right, but it seems Capcom
may have been inspired by Iori with this design.
Vega and Shiki
(Submitted
by Leona)

Didn't expect this one eh?
Try to figure out the similarity on your own before I tell you... Get it
yet? It's those purple snake tattoos... I never even noticed this... Thanks
to Leona for pointing it out... This really makes me wonder about these
two... I could definitely see them in an upcoming cross over game (hmm...
CvS3?) Just imagine the special intro (Like Vega's new win pose in CvS2
where the snake tattoo comes alive)... Definitely something to ponder...
Mukoro and Jack

Not only do they have a massive
head wound, but they both carry knives and they're both completely psycho...
Yet another case of possible relation...
Dudley, Boman, and Seth

They're all BIG and they all
have nice suits... Hmmm.
Riptor, Reptile, Lizard
Man, and Gon

Damn lizards... err... reptiles...
WHATEVER!
Bao and Pete

Two little wimps who definitely
don't belong in a fighting game... Incredibly similar...
Pullum and Rouge

Capcom is now stealing their
own designs... They have gone completely insane...
Lion and Kensou

Lion has the same exact stance
as Kensou... As wll as a similar haircut and clothing style.
Bison and Brocken

EVERYBODY knows Bison came
first... If you look up "rip-off" in the dictionary, you'll see a big fat
picture of Brocken... Even though Brocken was also a character in Ultimate
Muscle, even before Bison. But ohh well, he's still a rip-off one way or
another.
Gen, Wang Jinrey, Tung
Fu Rue, Gen-Fu, ahh hell... All of those geezers...

White beard... Going bald...
You know what to expect... And trust me, I could even name a few more...
We've seen enough of this design by now I think...
Chang and Zangief

Big... Bald... Beard... Hmmm...
