General:
Sagat lost the first
tournament when Ryu used the killing intent to scar
him. Enraged, he joined Shadaloo to get his revenge. However, he was unstable
and lost his title to Adon. When
he later met Dan, he realized his
error and let Dan win. After this, he left Shadaloo to find Ryu for a rematch.
By the time he does, Ryu is controlled by Bison
and Sagat has to help him regain his senses. After this, they part. Sagat
enters the second tournament to fight Ryu, but never gets to fight him.

Comment:
Sagat certainly wasn't
as cool in his original Street fighter debut, or in Street Fighter 2 for
that matter... And who could forget they made him into an old, skinny "arms
dealer" in Street Fighter: The Movie, but all that can be overlooked. The
point is, Sagat one of the first Muay Thai fighters to ever be in a fighting
game, and once his character developed and he got some better moves, he
became one of the baddest badasses in Street Fighter history.
