Profile
General:
Adopted by Gouken,
Ryu learned a toned down form of ansatsuken without the killing "touch".
However, when he nearly lost to Sagat he lost control and unleashed it.
After finally rejecting it, he's been travelling and perfecting his non-lethal
yet extremely powerful version of ansatsuken. He's now believed to be practicing
under the sennin, Oro. Ryu focuses
on his training, but has won a few friends and rivals like Ken,
Chun-Li,
Sagat and Sakura. When Ryu loses control of his inner dark hadou, he turns
into Evil Ryu.

Comment:
Perhaps the man who
started it all... Ryu has been Capcom's poster character for Street Fighter
since the debut in 1987. When we look at his design now, we can only find
so many that exceed him... But don't forget, he was the original guy in
a karate uniform (with a name)... And the original "hero" of fighting games.
We can only compare "him" to others... He is the most serious fighter of
them all. And seeing his "unchanged" & traditional style in today's
fighting games and media is a true pleasure to long time fighting game
and martial artists alike.
