General:
Born in a collective
farm in Siberia, Piotr Rasputin grew up a strong and healthy boy who made
his parents proud. When he became a teenager, he discovered he had the
strange ability to form an indestructable metallic skin over his normal
flesh. While in this armored form, he also possessed great strength, and
he often used this ability secretly to aid his family on the farm. His
secret became public, however, when he was forced to switch to armored
form to save his sister from a runaway tractor. He was exiled from the
farm, both for being a mutant and for destroying government property. He
found a home with the X-Men, where he learned that there were other mutants
like him. Since the time he first set foot in the Xavier Institute for
Higher Learning, he has had many ups and downs and even left the team once.
However, there is no doubt that Colossus remains one of the most loyal
members of the mutant band, prepared to sacrifice himself for any one of
his teammates.
